Blackwater Distillery is an independent craft distillery founded in 2014 in Ballyduff Upper, West Waterford, Ireland. The first distillery to open in SE Ireland in 174 years, it produces award-winning gins, vodka and pot still Irish whiskey. The Heritage Grain Project uses pre-industrial grain varieties. Visitor experiences include guided distillery tours (€20/pp) and cocktail masterclasses (€40/pp). A SCARP rescue plan was completed in April 2025 with approximately 95% of unsecured debt written off. The company holds NORMAL status on CRO Ireland as of May 2026.
